What is K9 Hearts?

K9 Hearts is a grief-informed memorial and healing art platform created to support those mourning the loss of a beloved dog. We offer personalized memorial portraits, remembrance artwork, and supportive resources designed to honor love, memory, and connection.

Is K9 Hearts therapy or counseling?

No. K9 Hearts does not provide medical or psychological therapy. Our work is supportive and grief-informed, offering comfort, remembrance, and emotional validation through art and storytelling. We encourage professional support if you feel you need clinical care.

What makes your memorial portraits different?

Our portraits are created with strict identity preservation and emotional sensitivity. We do not stylize, exaggerate, or alter your dog’s appearance. The goal is realism, dignity, and emotional recognition, so when you look at your portrait, you feel “this is my dog.”

What types of memorial art do you offer?

We offer several styles of memorial portraits:

  • Classic Memorial (Tier 1): Studio-style photographic realism

  • Forest Healing Portrait (Tier 2): Your dog gently placed in a calm forest environment

  • Legacy Memorial (Tier 3): Painterly heirloom-style artwork

Each tier serves a different emotional and visual purpose.

What kind of photo do I need to provide?

A clear photo taken in natural light is best. We look for:

  • Sharp focus on the face

  • Natural posture

  • Visible eyes and fur texture

  • Minimal motion blur
Even phone photos can work if lighting and clarity are good.

Can you combine multiple photos?

Yes. If needed, we can use more than one image to preserve identity or body structure. This will always be done carefully and realistically.

Will you change my dog’s appearance?

No. We do not:

  • Alter facial structure

  • Change markings or coloring

  • Adjust age or expression

  • Beautify or stylize

Your dog remains physically identical.

How long does a portrait take?

Typical turnaround is:

  • Proof stage: 7–14 days

  • Final delivery: depends on revision requests

Each portrait is created carefully and not rushed.

Can I request revisions?

Yes. You will be able to review your portrait and request refinements. We want it to feel emotionally and visually right for you.

What if I am not ready emotionally?

That is completely valid. Many people visit K9 Hearts months or even years after their loss. There is no timeline for grief.

Do you work with other animals?

K9 Hearts currently focuses on dogs because of the specific grief and bonding dynamics involved. This may expand in the future.

Is my information private?

Yes. Your photos and personal details are treated with respect and confidentiality. We never share client images without permission.

Can I use my portrait publicly?

Your portrait is yours. If we ever wish to share a piece (for example, in a gallery or example section), we will always ask first.

Do you offer refunds?

Because memorial portraits are custom, personalized, and emotionally sensitive work, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. We will always communicate with care and fairness.

How do I get started?

Simply choose your memorial tier, upload your photos, and complete the questionnaire. We guide you through each step gently.
